Zimbrick Honda had plenty of reason to celebrate this week.

It was announced a couple months ago that Zimbrick Honda was awarded their 13th Honda President’s Award. We celebrated the achievement here at the dealership with the unveiling of the President’s Award banner and a cookout for our staff. After all, earning a Honda President’s Award isn’t easy!

In addtion to this, Honda’s senior district sales manager Josh Beckner came to visit the dealership to honor Zimbrick Honda for being in business for 40 years! We’ve been your Madison Honda dealership since 1973.

Honda Civic CNG: First One Sold In Madison Wisconsin

The Honda Civic CNG just arrived, and it just sold. Congratulations to David and Nadine of Janesville for being the first Honda Civic Compressed Natural Gas customer at Zimbrick Honda!

The proud owners of the Honda Civic CNG picked up their vehicle on April 13. This also marks the first Civic Compressed Natural Gas vehicle to be sold in Madison.

Our dealership just received the green light to sell the Honda Civic CNG in March of this year. This ran concurrent with the launch of the first public compressed natural gas fill-up station in the area.

This marks the first time that our Honda dealership will offer this variant of the Honda Civic for sale. This is also the first time the vehicle will be available for purchase in Madison Wisconsin.

So why the wait? Why did Zimbrick Honda wait so long to order the Honda Civic Natural Gas vehicle? After all, the vehicle has been offered by Honda since 1998.

The answer is the lack of fueling sites in Wisconsin. Madison didn’t have any 100% public fueling sites for natural gas vehicles.

That all changed just this month. On March 1 2013, Madison Gas & Electric and Speedway opened the first public natural gas fueling site at 2500 Royal Avenue in Monona.

Now that drivers have fueling options, the Civic Natural Gas car is for sale at Zimbrick Honda!

Whatever you want to call it – the Civic GX, the Civic Natural Gas, the Civic CNG – this is a really great vehicle. Not only that, it is a welcome addition to the Madison Wisconsin driving community.

In this week’s installment of Q&A, we sat down with Zimbrick Honda sales and leasing consultant John Marks.

John Marks is passionate about his work, and it shows. Year after year, John is a top-performer on the sales floor because of his love for the Honda brand and his dedication to Zimbrick. Why would you buy your Honda from anyone else?

Q: I see you’re actually from Rockton, IL. What brought you to Madison, and then to Zimbrick Honda?

A: After college, a job with a local radio station brought me to Madison in 1983, and I have made this area my home. I was a Zimbrick client before joining as an employee. I became a member of the Zimbrick family as I respect the organization’s commitment to customer service and their employees.

Q: What sets Zimbrick Honda apart from other Honda dealerships?

A: The ownership. Business practices trickle down from the top. Our owner is a very good business and people person. We also exist by following a set of Core Values.

Q: What is your favorite part about working at Zimbrick Honda?

A: The people, Zimbrick clients are the BEST!

Q: What is your favorite Honda vehicle to drive?

A: I love driving them ALL!

Q: What sets you apart from other sales consultants?

A: After the new car smell fades I am still following up with clients.

Q: If you could convert one person in your life into a Honda driver, who would it be and why?

A: I would rather spend my time converting the ‘everyday’ person to be a Honda driver rather than focusing on one special person.

Q: Would you rather take four people on test drives during a 100 degree day or do snow removal after a huge blizzard?

A: My job means I am doing both of these and more!

Q: What do you do outside of work?

A: When not at work I enjoy going to Packer and Badger games and visiting Door County Peninsula. As an avid photographer I find the sunsets are magnificent!

2013 Buick Enclave Gets Five-Star Rating From NHTSA

The 2013 Buick Enclave seven-passenger luxury crossover has earned the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s highest safety-test honor: a five-star overall rating. The refreshed 2013 Enclave joins the mechanically related GMC Acadia in earning a five-star overall rating.

Though the pre-refresh Buick Enclave also received a five-star overall safety rating from the NHTSA, the 2013 model improved the SUV’s frontal crash test performance from four to five stars. The 2013 Enclave has a five-star rating in the side crash category, and four stars for the rollover test. In Insurance Institute for Highway Safety testing, the 2013 Buick Enclave is, like the Acadia, a Top Safety Pick. The SUVs have not yet been evaluated in the new small overlap front test, meaning they are not yet eligible for the Top Safety Pick + designation.

While the 2013 Enclave has the expected full set of airbags, a blind spot monitoring system, and a rear cross traffic alert system, the SUV also comes standard with a front center airbag. The safety feature is designed to minimize injuries to the driver and front passenger in far-side impact crashes in which the affected occupant is on the side of the vehicle not hit in the collision, Buick says.

Through the first two months of 2012, the Buick Enclave is the brand’s best-selling vehicle, with 10,136 units sold.

Consumer Reports Top Picks 2013 Includes Three Honda Vehicles

Consumer Reports rates new vehicles every year and compiles a list of Top Picks. Three Honda vehicles sold at Zimbrick Honda in Madison Wisconsin made the list of Consumer Reports Top Picks 2013 – Accord, CR-V, and Odyssey.

The 2013 Honda Accord was awarded Top Midsized Sedan., the 2013 Honda CR-V was awarded the Top Small SUV, and the 2013 Honda Odyssey was awarded the Top Minivan. Honda also took home the most awards out of every manufacturer.

According to Consumer Reports, they judge the picks based on three areas:

Road test. Each must rank at or near the top of its category in overall test score.
Reliability. Each must have earned an average or better predicted-reliability rating, based on the problems Consumer Reports subscribers reported on 1.2 million vehicles in their latest Annual Auto Survey.
Safety. Top Picks must perform adequately if tested in crash or rollover tests conducted by the government or insurance industry.
