Saab Saved!

“GM Reaches Agreement To Sell Saab To Spyker”

After all the ups and downs, loyal Saab owners and enthusiasts who have been rallying and supporting the embattled brand can take a moment and celebrate this headline. Saab has been saved.

General Motors and Spyker Cars have reached a binding agreement today after months of uncertainty. It was especially trying after witnessing the failed deal between GM and Penske for Saturn, the struggles with the deal between Hummer and China’s Sichuan Tengzhong, and the doors closing at Pontiac.

Yet, after all the dust settled, Saab still stands and has found a new home with Spyker. With the kind of devotion the small Dutch supercar manufacturer showed in acquiring Saab, we can only imagine that they have big plans for 2010 and beyond.

And in Madison, Wisconsin , everyone at Zimbrick Saab is all smiles!

“We are all thrilled with the news,” Zimbrick Saab sales manager Geoff Turnbull said. “All of us at Zimbrick Saab and our customers are very happy. We know that we also had some of our loyal customers at the latest save Saab rally so the loyalty has certainly paid off.”

Turnbull also looks forward to beefing up Zimbrick Saab’s new vehicle inventory again.

“We have already ordered thirty 2010 model 9-3 sedans and look forward to getting them in inventory soon,” Turnbull said. “We won’t know all of the ramifications for a while, but we do hope to see the all-new 9-5 soon and the new 9-4 cross-over next year.”

And, as usual, stay tuned for more information on this great news!

2006-2007 Honda Ridgeline Wiring Harness Recall

Tuesday, January 19th, 2010

If you have a 2006-2007 Ridgeline, give us a call.

Honda has issued a recall on certain model year 2006-2007 Ridgelines.

An HVAC issue has been exposed by passengers with excitable feet. Slight kicks in the passenger-side footwell are connecting with the wiring harness connector. This is leading to malfunction, overheating, and potential short-circuit and/or fire.

Zimbrick Honda will gladly take care of your Ridgeline for you and for free. We’ll inspect the wiring, replace it if needed, and install a protective cover to block any future contact with your passenger’s feet.

For more information on this recall, visit the National Highway Traffic Safety Adminstration or call Zimbrick Honda at (608) 829-1118 or Zimbrick Honda Service Center at (608) 273-3344.

Saturn Service Coming To Zimbrick Fish Hatchery Road

Friday, January 15th, 2010

Saturn owners - be our guest!

We want you to know that General Motors has appointed Zimbrick GM Service (at Zimbrick Buick West on Fish Hatchery Road) as the Exclusive Saturn Authorized Service Provider in the area.

All of your warranty coverage, scheduled maintenance, oil changes and parts purchases will be handled by this location. And your complete vehicle service history has been transferred to this location, so we will be familiar with your vehicle’s service needs.

Saturn parts and service manager Daryl Enzinger has worked at both Saturn service and our Fish Hatchery Road location since he started in 1994. His goal is to ensure a smooth transition for everyone.

Daryl Enzinger

“Going back to Zimbrick Fish Hatchery Road is like going back home,” Enzinger said. “We all share the same DNA at Zimbrick, so it will be just another building with some of the same great people from Saturn service and some new faces that have the same loyalty towards customers.”

While we hate to see a friendly dealership and a solid brand fall, we keep our head up and try to make the best of the situation.

“My whole experience with Saturn has been great!” Enzinger said. “We have great customers that became our friends. We were always here for our guests, and this will continue at Fish Hatchery Road.”

Honda Owner’s Car Care Clinic This Thursday!

Tuesday, January 12th, 2010

Get to know your Honda, up close and personal.

Zimbrick Honda will be hosting the Honda Owner’s Car Care Clinic this Thursday (January 14) at 5:45 p.m. There’s still time to RSVP for this great event!

We all have questions about our vehicle at some point in our driving experience.

Whether you just purchased your new Honda yesterday, you have been a loyal Honda customer for years, or your wife has a Honda and you have a big appetite, our Zimbrick Honda Owner’s Car Care Clinic on January 14 is an event you don’t want to miss.

So what’s the big deal? A delicious and free dinner, for starters! In the month of November, we served an awesome meal of lasagna, garlic bread and salad. What’s on the menu for January? There’s only one way to find out!

After eating, you’ll get the chance to learn important tips and tricks in regards to taking care of the Honda you love from our great staff. We’ll break up into groups depending on what Honda model you drive, and you’ll get a thorough walkthrough of your vehicle – from under the hood, to under the car itself.

Chuck Howarth, our parts and service manager at Zimbrick Honda, leads the clinic. He has 25 years of experience in helping people with their vehicle service needs at Zimbrick Fish Hatchery Road. He stresses that you become acquainted with your car, truck, SUV, or van.

“The clinics are a terrific opportunity for our guests to get to know us and their vehicles on a personal level,” Howarth said. “The average owner will learn things about their Honda they never knew before.”

Due to the popularity of the clinic, it will be now held every other month in 2010! So if you can’t make it this month, you’ll have another chance to make it soon.

What happened with Saab?

Tuesday, January 12th, 2010

Production continues, but Saab is winding down?

Bad news Saab enthusiasts. Maybe.

The wind down of the brand continues as planned. But, par for the course, GM has stated that there still is a chance that the brand is sold.

Time is not Saab’s friend, though.

“The longer it carries on as we start to wind it down, the more difficult it is for somebody to come along and buy it,” GM Europe president Nick Reilly stated.

According to Autocar.co.uk, GM vice chairman Bob Lutz said that GM wouldn’t sell Saab to a company it didn’t believe in “because we would be saddled with all the costs.”

On the other hand, Saab is restarting production today at their Trollhattan plant. And GM European representatives are sending nothing but positive vibes.

So what happened with Saab?

Stay tuned.
