Zimbrick Infiniti of Madison is a proud sponsor of the ACT 9 Wisconsin AIDS Ride.
The Wisconsin Infiniti dealership has a full-day sponsorship of the bicycle ride fundraiser, which starts August 4 and runs all the way until August 7.
Not only does Zimbrick Infiniti of Madison sponsor the ride, they also have a very active participant on their sales floor. Infiniti sales consultant Mike Christian has been a rider and volunteer in the ACT Ride for a number of years. This is Zimbrick’s first full-day sponsorship.
“As a full-day sponsor of ACT 9, Zimbrick Infiniti of Madison is responsible for the publications, literature, credits, and really a sizable amount of money to keep things running,” Michael Christian said. “This financial support helps keep things running smoothly and pays for all of the other things like the Gatorade, the energy bars, the bananas.”
ACT 9 is a bicycle ride that is over 300 miles long, stretching through the beautiful and tough-to-ride hills of southern Wisconsin.
The AIDS Ride concept was conceived about 12 years ago, when someone thought it would be a great way to build community, challenge people, and raise needed money for this cause.
Eight years ago, that ride started seeing dwindling returns, so a number of volunteers and staff at AIDS Network decided to produce its own ride. It was called ACT I, or AIDS Network Cycles Together.
ACT 1-8 have combined for over 1000 riders and 650 crew. They have traveled through small towns and cities all over southwestern Wisconsin, spread the word that AIDS continues to affect our state, and raised over $2,200,000. An incredible 87 to 90% of that amount, almost $1,900,000, went directly to AIDS Network and the services that they provide.
“As long as I’m here, I’m going to put every effort into helping this organization along,” Christian said. “The community and the people who are involved in the ACT Ride are just awesome.”
