Infiniti’s New Naming Strategy

Tuesday, December 18th, 2012

Zimbrick Infiniti of Madison, a Wisconsin Infiniti dealership with almost 20 years of Infiniti expertise, announces some big news regarding Infiniti’s new naming strategy for all new 2014 vehicles.

The news of Infiniti’s new naming strategy comes straight from the desk of Infiniti headquarters as of December 17, 2012.  Read on:

Marking another significant step in its plan to further expand its presence in the premium automotive sector, the company today announced details of Infiniti’s new naming strategy to be applied to its complete product range beginning with the 2014 model year. The first model to carry Infiniti’s new Q badge will be the Q50, an all-new premium sports sedan to be unveiled at the North American International Auto Show in January 2013.

Infiniti's New Naming StrategyThe premium automotive brand will see its model range simply prefixed either by Q – for sedans, coupes and convertibles, or QX, for crossover and SUV models. Each model will be further identified by a double digit representing hierarchy within the range.

This strategic change reflects Infiniti’s desire for clarity and cohesiveness as it embarks on ambitious growth plans, including significant expansion of the Infiniti portfolio.

Infiniti’s New Naming Strategy

Commenting on the revised naming philosophy, Johan de Nysschen, President of Infiniti Motor Company Limited, said: “Over the past few months, we have talked at length with our retailers, our customers, and our business partners about our brand. The need for a new identity and direction to promote consumer familiarity with our model range as we expand the portfolio became evident. To achieve this, we clearly needed a simple and consistent nomenclature framework. After exhaustive research and evaluation, we concluded that ‘Q’ captured the inspiration within the next generation of Infiniti models, as well as emphasizing our performance credentials while harking back to our heritage with the Q45 – Infiniti’s first iconic flagship product in 1989.”

Infiniti’s new naming strategy will be implemented in logical stages within the existing product range, as 2014 model year variants are introduced. The brand’s future plans include a range of next-generation Infiniti models that will carry Q and QX badging from the outset.

Zimbrick Infiniti of Madison, serving as your Wisconsin Infiniti dealership since 1993, is happy to provide you the latest information when it comes to all things Infiniti.

Infiniti Essence Concept – Chicago Auto Show 2011

Friday, February 18th, 2011

What would a major auto show be without a knock-your-socks-off concept car?  Enter the Infiniti Essence.

Granted, the Essence isn’t the newest concept out there.  Debuting at the Geneva Auto Show in 2009, the Essence was built to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Infiniti brand.  Yet this concept car is still every bit of a marvel as it was when it was first introduced.

It is the only car of its kind in the entire world.  Infiniti made one Essence, and unlike most concepts, it is a real and fully-functional car.

In case you planned on going anywhere longer than a day, the trunk is equipped with a three-piece Louis Vuitton luggage set.  The floor slides out when the trunk is open to open access to the luggage.

The paint is a secret to all but two people in the world, but what is known of it is this – there are two layers, and in between those two layers is a layer of real silver.  To see it in person is a real treat, because the car just glows.

2012 Infiniti M Hybrid – Chicago Auto Show 2011

Friday, February 18th, 2011

Continuing on our journey through the Chicago Auto Show, we arrived at the Infiniti display.  With the majority of the crowd around the Infiniti Essence concept, we first approached the 2012 Infiniti M Hybrid.

We first posted about the Infiniti M Hybrid in early December, reporting that the vehicle registered 30 miles per gallon highway.  It has since been updated that it gets even better fuel efficiency – up to 32 miles per gallon highway.

Zimbrick Infiniti of Madison still anticipates a spring 2011 arrival for the M Hybrid.

The Lithium-Ion battery found in the M Hybrid is lighter and more compact than traditional batteries found in other competitive hybrid models.  This means more room for you in the M’s spacious cabin and more trunk space.

Speaking of the Essence, it seems the M Hybrid borrowed some of the technology from its flashy concept brother.  In addition to the parallel-hybrid configuration, some of the vehicle’s styling was borrowed directly from the Essence.

The 2012 Infiniti M Hybrid maintains its uncompromised power while adding fuel efficiency.  And as you can see from the photos below, the 2012 Infiniti M Hybrid maintains its elegance and comfort.

Zimbrick Infiniti Anticipates Arrival Of New 2012 M Hybrid

Wednesday, December 8th, 2010

2012 Infiniti M Hybrid MadisonZimbrick Infiniti of Madison announces the upcoming launch of the 2012 Infiniti M Hybrid.

Tentatively scheduled for spring 2011, the launch of this vehicle marks Infiniti’s first entry into the realm of hybrid vehicles.

The biggest question when inquiring about a hybrid vehicle is miles per gallon.  Hitting 30 mpg on the highway and averaging 27 mpg combined for both city and highway driving, this V6 engine sips gas at a similar pace as a 4-cylinder engine.

Designed to be just as efficient as it is powerful, the Infiniti M Hybrid utilizes a parallel hybrid system that enables the electric motor and gas engine to work simultaneously or individually.  The M Hybrid can operate strictly in electric mode while driving at speeds up to 62 mph and coasting at speeds up to 85 mph.

Steering in the Infiniti M Hybrid is controlled by a unique system that uses an electric motor to create hydraulic oil pressure, allowing the M Hybrid to maintain the familiar feel of a traditional power steering system while enhancing fuel economy.

Infiniti isn’t holding back on performance even though they are improving fuel efficiency.  The Infiniti Direct Response Hybrid system delivers the performance demanded from a luxury sport sedan while providing the efficiency you expect from an economy car.

The use of the 3.5L V6 engine gives the vehicle a great balance between performance and efficiency.  Precise, high-speed motor control technology lets the driver experience all 360 horsepower, taking the Infiniti M Hybrid from 0 to 60 mph in less than 6 seconds.

From the sounds of things, the new 2012 Infiniti M Hybrid will be a welcome addition to the vehicle family at our Zimbrick Infiniti of Madison car dealership!

2011 Infiniti QX56 Wins Two ALG Residual Value Awards

Friday, November 26th, 2010

2011 ALG Residual Value AwardInfiniti has received two prestigious honors in the 12th annual ALG Residual Value Awards for the 2011 Infiniti QX56, an amazing vehicle sold at Zimbrick Infiniti of Madison.

The overall “2011 Best Luxury Brand” and “Best Luxury Fullsize Utility” were awarded to the 2011 QX56.  The ALG Residual Value Awards recognize the brands and vehicles in each industry segment that are predicted to retain the highest percentage of MSRP after a conventional three-year period.

“It‘s an honor to be recognized as having the highest projected resale value of any luxury brand in America,” said Infiniti Vice President Ben Poore.  “The Way of Infiniti is all about providing the best experience for our customers, from the day they first walk into an Infiniti showroom throughout the entire ownership experience.  This recognition from ALG is another assurance to our clients that they can purchase an Infiniti with confidence.”

Award winners are determined through careful study of the competition in each segment, historical vehicle performance and industry trends. Vehicle quality, production levels relative to demand, and pricing and marketing strategies are among the key factors that affect ALG’s residual value forecasts.  Awards are made in 19 vehicle categories and also for the two brands with the highest overall predicted residual values among all mainstream and all luxury vehicles.  This year’s awards are based on 2011 model year vehicles.

Based in Santa Barbara, California, ALG is a leading provider of data and consulting services to the automotive industry.  ALG publishes the “Automotive Lease Guide” – the standard for Residual Value projections in North America, and has been forecasting automotive residual values for over 50 years in both the U.S. and Canadian markets.

Zimbrick has rolled out a complete new inventory of 2011 Infiniti vehicles at their Madison car dealership at Fish Hatchery Road.  Infiniti offers a full-line of luxury performance automobiles, which are definitely worth a look if you haven’t seen them yet!

Preview: 2011 Infiniti G25

Thursday, October 7th, 2010

2011 Infiniti G25Infiniti of Madison is heating up the competition in the bustling luxury sports sedan category with a super-sizzler, the Infiniti G25X.

This newly introduced car marks a new level of value in a class where uncompromised power, top performance and superb handling are unquestioned.  Infiniti expanded the G series with this affordable entry-level car.

The G25X comes with a 218 horsepower 2.5 liter DOC engine delivering 187 foot pounds of torque at 4800 rpm and a smoother than silk 7-speed automatic transmission. The new ATTESA-ETS ® All Wheel Drive System is an intelligent road-gripping system that instantaneously adjusts power at each wheel as required.

Because it is similar in design to the G37 we’ve come to know and love, the G25 feels very familiar.

The list of Infiniti amenities reads like an auto aficionado’s letter to Santa:

  • finest leather seats (heated)
  • 8 way power driver’s and passenger seats
  • heated exterior mirrors
  • Shodo aluminum interior trim
  • tilting/telescoping steering column
  • bright full-size gauges
  • dual-zone Automatic Temperature Control
  • push button ignition
  • XM satellite Radio and a serious 6 speaker stereo system
  • moonroof

And the warranty is extraordinary: 4 years, 60,000 miles bumper to bumper and 6 yr/70,000 power-train.

Consumer Reports says the G-sedan is among the highest-rated cars it tested (95/100). Drivers who have “personally road-tested” Infinitis for years, a.k.a. owners, return to buy again. And that truly says “value.”

Infiniti of Madison, a full-service Infiniti dealer located at Zimbrick Fish Hatchery Road, will soon have the Infiniti G25 for sale, in stock along with the new 2011 Infiniti QX56 and 2011 Infiniti M37.  If you’re looking for an Infiniti in Wisconsin, Zimbrick is the dealership of choice!
